Ok AYCE CRAB LEGS are good at $29pp I was not that hungry ... Crab ball appetizer is yummy Mahi and grits was TOO salty and we sent this back and traded for crab sandwich which was ok Service was ok. They seemed a little overwhelmed as they checked back with us but not as often as we would have liked... It very casual and low key We also had to wait even though tables were empty ....hmmm...?? I would have rated this a3.5 star

ayce crab legs!!! So the Mr. cracked down and did tons of research for an AYCE crab place for our trip and he found Main Street Cafe & Pub. Based on the name, I was expecting... idk, something from Cheers maybe? But Main Street happened to be a cute little restaurant in a quiet shopping strip. We arrived a bit earlier than our 5 p.m. reservations, which we were advised to make ahead of time. I again, mistakenly took that to be a large, long wait for tables and in between crab legs servings. That was not the case at all! We requested outside seating in their little patio, the server promptly came and took our orders. She was pleasant and chit chatted with us a bit before the food came out. We decided on the crab balls for apps and both of us had the AYCE crab legs which is $29/pp. First, the appetizer was soooo goood!! It was like a crab cake, little to no filling, but rolled into a ball. It was served with a tangy sauce, but seriously these were so yummy that I forgot about the sauce until after my 3rd one! Each serving has 3 large clusters along with butter. They don't skimp on the servings here, and each leg was firm and cleaned (I have had some crab legs served to me that looked like they were dredged through the swamps before). Although the crabs weren't as sweet as I prefer, they were very, very good. Each piece came out pretty clean from the shell. While we were dining, the other customers around us ordered a variety of foods, including the chicken fajitas which smelled delicious and looked to be enough to feed 2 people comfortably. The owner also came out to light the tiki torches around the patio to keep the mosquitoes away and she also chatted with us for a bit. Overall, a great meal and good service!

Hold the phone! Turn around and get here! The crab legs - amazing! Wine, staff, deserts - I don't have one complaint. Anytime I'm in the area, I will be here!

Oh. my. word. I thought AYCE crab legs were a thing of the past. Fear not, friends. You can still find them here.. and it's one of the only places on the island that still offers the deal. And it's not just once a week. Stop in Mon-Fri evening and get them for 29.99. I'm pretty sure I ate the full value. Not only that, but they have great happy hour specials. 2 other diners in our party had steak and tilapia, which they also raved about. Service was also phenomenal. Our server was so attentive, easy to talk to, friendly. I really, really wish this wasn't a vacation spot and I could move the restaurant closer to me. Love it!!

Amazing customer service and excellent food! Manager walked us to our cars with umbrellas when it started raining hard.

If you're in Hilton Head, don't skip this spot! Must haves: - Seafood chowder: creamy base, potatoes, and big chunks of crab and other seafood - All you can eat crab legs: $29.95 for big, meaty, fresh, unlimited crab legs. My aunts are from Florida and consider themselves "crab connoisseurs"...and they were in heaven - pecan pie. Yum. Big slice with whipped cream. Thin crust, Not too sweet. I only wish it had been served warm. - other orders at our table that were crowd pleasers were the Sriracha Honey wings, Smothered Chicken Breast, and Broiled Seafood Platter. Tips: - come early. We arrived around 6:15 and beat the crowd. It started to pick up around 7pm - don't be in a rush. Servers were super friendly but not that fast due to the crowd.

Despite the sub par ambience/decor, we came their for killer all you can eat crab legs, and we were not disappointed. Food- We started off with some side salads which were not so good, lettuce was browned in some parts, and came with hidden valley ranch instead of homemade; which was disappointed, but again, we came for crab legs. The crab legs themselves were fresh and delicious. They came to the table steaming and juicy. Each leg had a ton of meat in it. I ate ten clusters? of crab! Five crabs! Definitely got the money's worth considering this was $30, which is also the price for two clusters (1 crab) at skull creek boathouse. We also had dessert, key lime pie and some sort of Nutella cake. Both were disappointing; served cold and tasted just plain sweet and sugary with no character. Service/decor- The service was good and they came by the table to check if we needed a crab leg refill often. The decor on the other hand was not good. This restaurant needs a serious robert Irvine-Ing. Also it's kind of musty and dirty in there. The only reason I would recommend this place is if you want some killer crab legs. I would not recommend for tourists because there are so many nicer places with great decor and/or waterfront views that could make for a nicer evening.

Recommendation from local here on the island, because they have all you can eat crab legs... It's not the easiest place to find even with GPS...any way.... Reservation are recommend unless you get there early, we got there about 5:30 pm and was lucky...floors are sticky all over large menu of Mexican, seafood, sandwich's. Our waitress was fast and friendly needs a little bit of better cleaning fries tasted a bit too heavy ( fryer oil needs to be changed ) crab legs were hot n yummy

My friends that visited Hilton Head before recommended this place for the AYCE crab legs. I was sold when they said it was good AYCE crab legs. The restaurant/pub is in a nice shopping neighborhood with lots of good eye shopping to be had. Next time I will definitely make it a point to take a full stroll. Ok. Back to the eats. We came for an early dinner and glad we did. The restaurant was pretty empty and quiet. Towards the end of our meal the place was pretty packed with a only few tables vacant. I really enjoyed the crab legs here. That was the showstopper for me paired with good service, and the reason for my five stars on this review. So good!! When you order the AYCE crab legs they come out fresh and warm per order. The crab legs were all yummy, decently sized, and NOT salty at all. Winning! They were not stingy at all when you asked for crab leg refills. When you order the crab legs a salad comes with it as well. It's a simple salad but everything in it was fresh which is a win in my book. My Caesar salad dressing was good. Our party of 7 also ordered a few others items off the menu- fried green tomatoes, lobster roll, & lobster grilled cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries. The lobster grilled cheese sandwich was awesome! Never had anything like that. The Lobster Roll my friend ordered was a nice size and refreshing, and I really liked how it was topped with some sliced avocados. The lobster roll here wasn't the best I've had but definitely not the worst. The fried green tomatoes were cooked well but I think we were all focused on the crab legs and other ordered items that I didn't give it a fair shot. After everything else came out I kind of regretted that we ordered it because it was a lot of food. Hehe. The staff was great too. Attentive and friendly the entire night. Our main server, Emily, was wonderful. I will definitely be back here during my next trip to Hilton Head. Keep up the good work!

The fried green tomato appetizer and the pan seared wahoo was excellent. Hubs has the AYCE crab legs and the seafood chowder - he raved about both. Good choice if you're in the area!

Excellent food, excellent staff. I had one of the specials which was sesame beef medallions which came with wild rice and grilled zucchini, and a side salad. The beef must have been a filet cut into beef medallions because it was very lean and very delicious. My husband had the pimento cheese French dip which came with a side of their homemade potato chips. His food also tasted great. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The menu prices were very reasonable for HHI. We will definitely return.

We went for the ayce crab legs which were good but the key lime pie was the best. Hostess was not warm and welcoming but Cindy our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The crab legs are $29.99 and come with a salad. Would have liked hush puppies but instead I filled up on crab legs. Overall it was good. Highly recommend the key lime pie.

Stopped in our first night in the island. Had to wait a bit which was fine, but no real standing room. Margarita was awesome. Reuben delish. Basic salad full of fixins. Everything be around us was happily munching on crab legs...too much work for me. But a very nice place...just a bit slow.

  • Brooke F.

Everything was wonderful...from the salad dressing to the entree. It was a rare night for our family because we all finished our dinner! My husband loves the linguine with white sauce. I had the pot roast. The kids had huge hamburgers made to order. Professional, friendly service and a great live musician.

While on vacation we decided to go to Main Street Cafe for all you can eat crab. We thought for sure this would be low quality, tasteless crab for $29.99 but we were on vacation so try it. We were so wrong. This is very high quality snow crab that was as tasty as any 5 star restaurant could provide for three times the price. We swapped a salad for home made potato chips. These too were amazing. This is a gem of a place. Sure wish it was closer to home!!

Got us in within a few minutes even though they were busy and had some tables reserved. The broiled seafood platter was excellent and people were raving about the all you can eat crab legs. The seafood chowder, didn't care for that as much. Other than that, it was an outstanding dinning experience.

We stopped in on a whim before a movie and found a lively place with a friendly, efficient staff and an broad menu. The waiter clearly read our no-nonsense demeanor and served us quickly and got us out on time. The Friday fish fry was awesome: perfectly fried cod, crispy batter; good fries--and not an overwhelming plateful--and fresh coleslaw. Don't pass up this place!

Monday night, nine of us. I'm the local, they're the tourists. Let's start with the good: the beer was cold. It was all downhill from there: the Chardonnay arrived at room temp. The Pinot G was most likely Chardonnay. The shrimp fajitas were obviously frozen shrimp, maybe from the Harris Teeter next door? My Reuben sandwich was terrible. The crust was stale (stale, I tell you!) and the sandwich was very dry. The sweet potato fries arrived quite cold and a paltry amount for an up charge item. The hot ones were just simply bland. One of our party just simply did not get her burger with the rest of us, at least 5 min behind, which doesn't seem like a long time unless your food is getting cold in front of you. The service was poor - slow and inattentive. Maybe she was overworked. The owner comped the Reuben. But, didn't come out,

A really nice place to meet friends and catch up. This restaurant offers a broad menu of options, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Food is consistently good, service is as well. My favorite is the grilled cheese, tomato and bacon sandwich which is served with delicious hot French fries. My husband likes the hot dog. We will definitely return.

Looked everywhere for all you can eat crab legs in hilton head island and after searching for a while, I was gonna give up but I finally found this place. All you can eat crab legs for 29.99. The cafe is located away from the coligny beach in a nice little shopping center. They to this AYCE crab legs Mon-Sat 5pm-8:30PM. When you go the their website it says reservation is recommended but our trip there at 5PM on a monday did not need a reservation. I've had some good AYCE crab legs and some bad ones and this place definitely fall under the better places. Every leg I cracked the meat came out whole and full.. AHH the satisfying feeling of pulling out a hot steamy piece of crab to take a dive into some butter. Crab legs were not salty like most places are. Meat was fresh and almost sweet. The waitress kept the crab legs coming so I didn't have too much down time in between refills. We got crab balls as appetizer too. it was like meatballs but with crab and it was really good too. I haven't had anything else here so my review is just on the crab legs but they get a 5 star... It was some good crab legs... maybe only all you can eat in Hilton head. I'm glad I found it and will return for some more crabs next time I'm in town. The waitress did say that april and may is good season for crab legs because they change markets where they purchase from around this time of the year and the crabs taste better..bit sweeter she said... she was right.

Loved the queso blanco and chips, they were awesome! Hubby loved the crab legs, my son had the quesadilla and I, the fish and chips. Excellent food and service:)

Stopped in quickly and they had an awesome happy hour from 4-8pm. We had some of their crab balls and they were great. Really friendly staff and a good beer selection considering it's a smaller place. We wish we would has stayed longer!

Came here for the AYCE Crab Legs for $29.99... We made reservations for 5:30 and when we got there they weren't busy. We were seated promptly and made our drink orders. Then placed our dinner orders. The crab legs came with a small side salad that I also received promptly. When our meals came the legs where decent in size and tasted ok. They got old after a while. Unlike another joint in town we've been to "Nick's" where they includes fries. I had a few orders which seemed to take forever to come out as by 6pm they were really busy. My wife ordered desert but they didn't have a menu for it so the waiter just told us what they had, which didn't include prices. When we got our bill the piece of pie ended up costing more than my wife's meal, $6.95. Overall it was ok, I doubt we ever will go back there again. Nick's would have been a better choice.

Pretty good. The home made chips were awesome. I had the lobster grilled cheese. That was great! I don't like American cheese and they substituted the cheese for me! I recommend this place! Also, the bread was soggy.

We had the Reuben and cheeseburger. It was all really good! The burger was more done than than medium. We would come here again.

Surprisingly good food. I had a broiled seafood combo--well done, not a problem with it at all. Wife had a lobster grilled cheese sandwich...RIDICULOUSLY impressive. No joke, don't pass on this because of the generally "vanilla" menu. I was really impressed with the quality.

Great place to sit outside and enjoy a very good lunch. Good staff - particularly the bartenders if you want to just enjoy watching a baseball game and sit at the bar

  • Joe D.

It should be one and half stars, but yelp doesn't allow half stars. The food is just ok! Nothing here blew me away. The service, especially if you sit outside, SUCKS!! their menu is to big to be good, and does not reflect any one direction, but tries to cater to every taste. I think ( my opinion) is that you should do ten things great, instead of 100 things just so so. And that's what this place is.... Just so so! Not worth revisiting after having had two just ok meals here. I'd rather spend my money somewhere else and have a good or great meal, then to spend my hard earned cash on something that is just so so.

We have been Coming to Hilton Head for over 20 years. The all you can eat crab legs are the best I can remember anywhere! Doretta's service was really special to.

  • Sandy D.

My cousin and I came here while staying in Palmetto Dunes. I read the reviews and I wanted to check this place out. We were seated outside since the weather was perfect with overcast skies. We came here to try their salads and drinks. The waitress we had was awesome and helped us as we were undecided on what to get. The Sandy Paws drink was great but the Curried Chicken Salad was amazing!! The prices are reasonable for it being a vacation spot, I felt the food was definitely worth the price paid (if not more)! Definitely check out this restaurant if you want great food with great service!

I am not sure this is a "locals eat" type of place but the food was good enough.

  • Nick K.

This place was great! They had great service, the food did not take to long to come out. The all you can eat crab legs are very good and at a reasonable price, although it is a pain to crack them yourself. The flat iron pork was absolutely delicious along with the fries!

My family and I happened upon the Main Street Cafe and Pub while wandering through Main Street Village on a rainy Thursday afternoon. We were greeted by a friendly server who seated us at a quiet table (which was good, given that we had a rambunctious two-year-old with us). As noted above, service was prompt and extremely friendly. Our two servers (Cindy and Katie) were both extremely warm and engaging. Having inquired about our visit to Hilton Head Island and our impending visit to Savannah, they offered up their suggestions of the best places to visit and to eat. Our meals were simply wonderful. My dad had the fried oyster platter, my mother had the patty melt, my wife had the Lowcountry Cobb Salad, and I had the excellent Salmon and Bacon Club. We especially enjoyed their home-made chips, which were to die for. We will definitely be back!

Driving blindly around Hilton Head in town for business, I stumbled upon the shopping center where the Main Street Cafe & Pub is located, while looking for a quick, sit down, non-chain lunch joint. Voila! Dakota hit the nail on the head with her accurate description of the portion size - not excessive but not skimpy. Perhaps the amount of sprouts on my sandwich could be considered a bit excessive, but I'd rather have excess than minimal. The fries were crispy, but a little greasy for my preference. Service was timely, which was much appreciated, as I'm certain I appeared to be in the big hurry that I was. Other patrons lingered while they enjoyed their food and the company surrounding them, and it didn't seem that they were rushed out of there. Props for attending to the needs of the individual customer! Certainly a nice, cozy place to grab a bite to eat. Perhaps next time I'm in town I will be enjoying the view wearing flip flops instead of running off in my heels.

  • James S.

We highly recommend this spot - the best we found on the island. Not touristy, great local flavor. The food was excellent (I recommend the lobster grilled cheese - wow!). But the service was what got the 5th star. Faith and everyone else went above and beyond to help us get to know the area, and made some great recommendations for places to go off the beaten path. At one point, everyone at the bar was making suggestions. My kind of place.

    (5)
  • D F.

Was able to get walk up seating at 7 PM on a Friday night, service was quick and competent, although nothing extraordinary. Food came in good-sized portions, not excessive but not skimpy; same with the side/fries that accompanies most sandwiches. For what you get perhaps a tab on the pricey side, but consider it a safe and friendly bet on an island of expensive unknowns. Some crab ball appetizers were a bit on the softer side, but still tasted very fresh. My lobster salad sandwich was pleasantly seasoned and fresh; although I would have preferred a bolder flavor personally. Everyone in our party was happy with their selection, seafood and more traditional fare included. The sort of place I enjoyed and would be happy to visit again as an old standbye.

  • Maggie L.

We had dinner here last night. I had the Reuben, my husband had the club sandwich and my son had a hot dog. The sandwiches were decent but nothing to write home about. The waitress was awesome though. It was all you can eat crab night and Seth was all about wanting to try some crab because of seeing them all over the place. I asked her if it was possible to buy a single crab leg. She said no, that the minimum order was a pound. Still, she came back a few minutes later with one leg and butter and said it pays to be friends with the chef. It was very sweet that she did that.

  • M.J. S.

Nice location with lots of windows. Food is poor to fair and the menu seems outdated and needs an overhaul. Prices seem high for the quality, but it's Hilton Head and everything seems to cost more than it should. But the biggest problem is that the bartenders don't seem to know when to stop pouring for drunks, who can be heard throughout the restaurant, even in the main dining room, which is separated from the bar by a low wall. Don't they know they could held liable if one of these guys harms someone. This isn't a dive bar and the owners better get their bartenders trained (and scared!). This is serious a serious issue.

  • Frank R.

Decent breakfast cage food. I like going in the morning for eggs and coffee. Havnt been blown away by anything but the food is good. I deleted one star for service, it's a little lacking. Don't check up much and won't clean up your plates when I'm sitting right in front of the guy. Manager lady actually came by to do that and ask if I wanted anything else.

Good place for lunch. Good service and not too crowded at mid-afternoon lunch-dinner. My wife and I had fish sandwiches (cod and talapia) with fries. Will return.

The crab legs are no longer 21.99 but are now 29.99. Service and food were good anyway, especially the chowder! I would return next time I am on the island.

This was my first trip to Hilton Head and was doing some research on all you eat crab legs places a few days before I arrived. I came across Main Street Cafe and Pub. I am so glad I found this place!!!! The crab legs were very good as well as the cheesecake. The staff was very friendly and atmosphere was comfortable. I would recommend this place if you are looking for great crab legs.

Came here for all you could eat crab legs and oh....what a treat!! It comes with a salad and freshly steamed, meaty snow crab legs. The best ever! They are cooked fresh when you are ready for more. Nice casual place with indoor and outdoor dining. Good service with friendly staff. $29 and WELL worth it! Will be back for sure!

I googled "all you could eat crab legs in Hilton Head" on my way down for a short weekend vacation. This was the first place that popped up and it did not disappoint. I don't know how there wasn't a line out the door! The crab legs were just that good. They were big, fresh and sweet. Simply amazing. As long as this place is here Hilton Head is my favorite vacation spot.

Stopped in for a beer during mid-day to kill some time while the wife had her nails done. Can't speak for the rest of the menu, but the seafood chowder was excellent. The beer was cold and the staff friendly. I always try and give the local places a chance and the benefit of the doubt...

Absolutely a must place to go for all the vacationers looking for all you can eat crab legs!! The locals love this place which says it all. The service and atmosphere is outstanding!! Don't forget to try the crab balls for an appetizer.

  • Diana B.

This is my go-to place for great food. This is truly where the locals go to have a good meal, watch a game with friends, and catch lunch. Everything from the chips to the seafood chowder soup to the lobster roll, it is an excellent place where everybody knows your name!

    (5)
  • Margaret G.

Do you like your salad out of a bag? You home fries straight from the frozen foods section of the supermarket? Would you like your tasteless eggs served on a dirty plate? And would you like all of this to take a solid 30 minutes to reach your table? Then Main Street Cafe & Pub is your kind of place. Not that there is too much more to say, but just so that I'm clear about this: the food was bad, the service was bad, and the atmosphere was bad. Oh, and the prices weren't all that great either. Lunch cost us $38 with tip and we will do our actual eating at home.

    (1)
  • J P.

A locals place to eat, instead of a chain restaurant or a tourist trap. I had the lobster roll on a bed of spinach instead of a hoagie roll. Huge pieces of lobster! Was $12.95 and worth every penny. Still had enough left over for another meal. Note: my gps tried to take me the opposite way on main st., but this cafe is in the main street village shopping center across the parking lot from the pink house gallery.
